Young Children's Program (YCP)

Young Children's Program (YCP)

For children 18 months – 3.5 years old

The Young Children’s Program is designed to meet the special needs of toddlers, who are often ready for challenges and experiences beyond home day-care, but still need a small-group environment to thrive and feel secure. The YCP provides low student/teacher ratios that create a warm family atmosphere, a rich learning environment, and an emergent curriculum that meets toddlers at their readiness level.

Group Size

10 per classroom (20 in the program total).

Teacher : Child Ratio

Two large classrooms divided into learning areas, with large shaded lanai and outdoor play area.

YCP teachers create an emergent curriculum based on the developmental needs of young children in several areas (physical, social, emotional, creative, language and intellectual).

Afternoon Time

The YCP afternoon is staffed by 2 teachers and 2 teacher assistants. In the Afternoon, children from both rooms are combined during free play. Activities are available indoors and outdoors and children are free to move between these two areas. Afternoon staff lead special activities like gardening, music, art projects and buggy rides.

Morning and afternoon snack provided by the school. Families provide lunch and, if necessary, a late-afternoon snack. TES has a healthy food policy that discourages candy and non-nutritional snacks. Due to allergies, the school has a strict NO NUTS policy.

Operating Hours
